The beneficiary requested the following deliverables following the photogrammetric flight: dense point cloud, DEM, orthophoto map, textured 3D model.
Resolution below 1 cm. 1970 stereographic projection system

A 3D model of the “capturing reality” type using drone photogrammetry involves the following essential steps:

  1. Flight planning: The drone route is set to evenly cover the area of interest, making sure the images overlap enough (70-90%) to allow for accurate reconstruction.
  2. Image capture: Drones equipped with high-resolution cameras photograph the terrain from various angles and altitudes. It is important to maintain a constant altitude and avoid unfavorable weather conditions.
  3. Image preprocessing: The captured images are downloaded and processed to correct distortions and adjust colors.
  4. 3D model generation: Using specialized software (e.g., Agisoft Metashape, Pix4D), the images are aligned and a dense point cloud is created, which is then converted into a textured 3D model.
  5. Post-processing and analysis: The 3D model is refined, removing any artifacts and adjusting details to ensure accuracy. Additional analyses can be performed, such as topographic measurements or the creation of orthophotomaps.

This process allows for the creation of detailed and accurate models of the real environment, useful in various fields, from architecture and urban planning to agriculture and heritage conservation.
